What are Lightroom presets?

Lightroom is an editing software, available for both desktop and mobile phones (iOS and Android). The desktop version is accessible with a subscription, whereas the mobile version is free with some limitations (this will not be a problem with any of our presets, as they only use free tools).

It's one of the most advanced editing apps you can find on mobile for free (or not), and the desktop version is used by many professional photographers. It allows to edit the main parameters of your photos, such as exposure, saturation, shadows, colours and much more. The app itself is easy to use, but it's often difficult to edit photos to achieve a certain look for your Instagram feed or for other social networks, and to keep that look for all your pictures.

This is where presets come handy. They are 'filters', preset settings, that you can apply to your pictures to edit them with a single tap. All you have to do is search on our website for a preset you like, download it, follow our instructions to install it, and apply it to your pictures.

And, why not, if you ever learn to professionally edit your pictures, you may also save your own presets and create an original, one-of-a-kind look for your feed.

Keep in mind that all presets on our website are designed for mobile use, in DNG or XMP format.

How do I install Lightroom presets?

Check out our step-by-step tutorial on how to install and use our presets on this page.

What do I need to download and use the presets?

You only need two or three things to install our presets:

  • a Web browser (such as Chrome, Safari, Opera or your phone's built-in browser)
  • the Lightroom app, which you can download from the official App store on your phone (it's completely free).
  • for iPhone, the official Files app is necessary. You can download it from the App store.
On Android, having a file manager can be useful to sort the files you download. Most phones already have a built-in one, usually called 'File manager' or 'Files' or something similar. Otherwise, you can download one from your App store

Check the links in our Tutorial section for the direct download links to all these apps.

Will these presets work on every picture?

No. These presets are designed to be versatile, but it's impossible that they work on every one of your pictures, because pictures can be very different from one another. We suggest downloading multiple presets, and trying them all on your picture to see which one works best. If they still don't work, check out the 'Quick edits' section.

I downloaded the presets, where are they on my phone?

If you downloaded a preset in DNG format, you can find it in your gallery or in the folder where you decided to save it using the Files app. If you just downloaded it, when you open Lightroom to import the preset, it should be right at the top in the most recent files.

If you downloaded a preset in XMP format, by default it should be in a 'Downloads' folder. Every file manager (the app you use to sort everything that's on your phone in folders) is set differently, but most of them have a 'Downloads' folder.

If you still can't find the preset, search in the settings of your browser (such as Chrome) where is the default folder for downloads. If you still can't find the preset, run a search in your whole device with the name of the preset to see which folder it's in.

If you have a Google drive app, usually you can either choose where to save your files (I suggest creating a folder for all your presets), or you can find your downloads by default in the 'Downloads' folder.

Your settings can be different if you have a microSD card in your phone. Contact us if you're having trouble finding where your presets were downloaded!
